Online counselling for clients in Vancouver & throughout BC | In-person counselling in qathet

My intention is to foster a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where you can feel safe to share whatever is on your mind and heart, without fear of judgement. I aim to draw on your intuition and innate strengths to promote the healing, growth or change that you are seeking.

To me, walking the path alongside you as you process memories, work through difficult emotions, face current challenges, or explore & get to know different parts of yourself, is a privilege. I feel deep gratitude to be invited on these meaningful journeys.

My work is informed by the following perspectives, modalities and approaches:

Anti-Racism | Anti-Colonialism | Anti-Oppression | Trauma-Informed Care | Intersectional Feminism | Strengths-Based Approach | Harm Reduction | Biopsychosocial-Spiritual Model | Pain Science | Window of Tolerance | Polyvagal Theory | Somatic Therapy Narrative Therapy | Mindfulness | Yoga Philosophy | Internal Family Systems | Solution-Focused Therapy | Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) | Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

As our time in session together only constitutes a small part of your life, I believe it's important to support you in building a toolkit upon which you can rely to navigate life with self-compassion, clarity, and confidence.

Depending on your unique goals & circumstances, your toolkit could include any combination of the following:

  • Emotional regulation skills that will allow you to move through states of distress, rather than getting stuck in them

  • A deeper awareness of your values (what matters most to you in life)

  • Insight into the ways your thoughts, feelings and behaviours interact and impact one another

  • Tools to shift the thought-feeling-behaviour patterns that you identify are no longer serving you, allowing you to live more in alignment with your values

  • Recognition of oppressive beliefs that have been internalized from societal messaging (whether about race, culture, sexual orientation, disability, gender, body image, or other), and techniques for reframing these beliefs

  • Effective communication strategies to support your ability to build and maintain strong relationships in your life, while still tending to your own needs

  • Greater attunement to your body’s cues so that you can sense the messages your system is always sending you, and make choices that support your holistic wellbeing

  • Breathing and mindfulness practises to foster balance in your nervous system, allowing you to respond to life stressors and then return to a sense of calm and safety in your body
